At Admissions Company, we believe that our competitive advantage lies in three distinct areas. First, our proprietary method relies on proven, measurable analytics to gather and analyze information about you and determine your chances of acceptance into each college or graduate school. Second, our process continues with guiding you on an optimal path, helping you make the best decisions about your application process, and improving your chances of acceptance in a statistically significant manner. Third, we will choose your best and most unique qualities and build a brand that helps you rise above the applicant pool.

Our competitors fall into 3 categories: First, there are the former admissions counselors who claim to know the “secret” of admissions. We promise you there is no secret. In fact, with the prevalence of data and knowledge available on the Internet, there’s little left out there to be a secret. Gaining acceptance into a competitive college or graduate school is primarily determined by a series of numbers and how they compare on a standard or non-standard distribution to others. Recent studies show that colleges are relying less on off-campus interviews, essays, or other subjective measures of a student’s profile. This is why branding, and preparing the application to cater to the best schools is the most critical task in college application.

The second type of competitor we have is individuals or entities who peddle their supposed network of connections in top tier schools. While this may or may not result in success, it is akin to jumping out of an airplane without a parachute. These individuals essentially promise a competitive advantage based on providing access that is supposedly not available to other applicants. This method raises two important questions. First, how have these counselors cultivated a vast network of contacts at the admissions offices of some of the best schools in the country? While it is possible to do so with one, two, three, or even as many as five schools, developing contacts at the top 50 schools would be impracticable. Yet, that is exactly what is needed in order to be able to provide a robust and viable service. Second, don’t you think there’s an ethical problem with paying someone to use their network to help you gain an advantage? What if you’re a borderline candidate, and your attempts backfire?

The third type of competitor is those who themselves have gained admission into some of the best colleges in the country. The basic sales pitch is: I went to a top 20 school, ergo, I can get you in. For these counselors, three important questions need answers. First, did they get into that great school based on their exam scores and/or GPA or some other factor? Second, did they use a method to gain acceptance to their alma mater that can be duplicated and applied to others? Third, can they explain what they did and how it was unique? The main problem with this group of counselors is that they gained acceptance to a great school based on the merits of their application, and nothing more. In the end, they most likely subscribe to some common wisdom about the admissions process that may or may not be true.
Your selection of a private college or graduate school counselor is as critical as your decision to apply to a particular school or college. We encourage you to interview several counselors. We encourage you to ask critical questions and gauge the answers for yourself. We welcome these questions and pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the best results.

Our Methodology

Rooted in Data

We don’t believe in using our gut instincts, 30-year-old data, the experience of our grandparents, or the wisdom of ages in helping you get into college. Instead, we rely on large amounts of data to find the optimal geographic, social, cultural, and academic match for you. We even take into account the weather!

Personal Analytics

We begin with our initial interview, which takes between 2 and 4 hours with the applicant, and an additional 2 to 4 hours with the applicants’ parents. We continue to build a complete understanding of who you are, in order to help you get accepted to the college where you will be your best self.

Targeted College Selection

Our process will help you find a list of colleges to apply, where your best attributes are sought after and they can perform at a high level. This selection process is what makes us successful and our clients happy long after our job is done.

How we do it

Successfully gaining acceptance into the college of your choice requires the understanding, evaluation, and performance measurement in college in a variety of factors. The most important factor is a combination of GPA and college entrance exam scores. This combination serves as a marker of where an applicant has the lowest, highest or average chances of acceptance. Beyond this factor, there are many issues, such as extra-curricular, charity, arts, athletic, and other skills that impact the odds of gaining acceptance into college.
Most people, and most college counselors, begin by assessing the aforementioned criteria for each student and arriving at a list of colleges to apply based on these odds. We believe that this methodology is inherently flawed.

While we start our process by incorporating your demographic factors – GPA, test scores, extra-curricular activities and personal background – we go further through our extensive interview to learn every aspect of your personality, interests, habits and more… in essence, what makes you uniquely you. Through this process, we build a narrative and together decide not just what are your odds of going to a particular school, but how can we best improve those odds.

At Admissions Company we spend a long time getting to know each applicant on a personal level. We go beyond academics and athletics, and use our expertise to develop a profile of each client that includes their demographic and psychographic backgrounds, personality profiles, hobbies, and interests, to form a comprehensive and unique portrait.
We do this so that we can develop a unique brand that will help each of our clients rise above the noise level and consistency of the thousands of other applicants vying for a limited number of seats. In essence, we work tirelessly to help each of our clients present their own unique brand to colleges.

We Don’t Guarantee What We Can’t Deliver

Our process is designed to find you a home away from home. We will help you apply to a list of colleges that you will like, succeed in, and be happy with. We don’t pick them out of a hat! Neither should you. No matter how luxurious the hat may look.

5- We will guide you in every step of the process. Choosing a set of schools is only the beginning.

6- We will not lie for you, nor will we help you lie on your application.
